Bose Launches Micro Bluetooth Speaker

Bose just launched its cheapest Bluetooth speaker “The SoundLink Micro”. The SoundLink Micro is a tiny, portable speaker which is IPX7 water resistant and its weighs just 290 grams. The newest addition to the SoundLink wireless speaker range will be available from September 21st in US for a price of 109.95 dollars (roughly Rs 7,000).

This speaker can handle any kind of water whether it is soapy or salty and comes with a tear-resistant silicone strap. Bose claims the speaker can fit anywhere – whether you are hiking, biking or cooking. It is very portable. Dimensions: 983x983x348 mm.

The speaker comes with a custom transducer and miniature dual-passive radiators. Bose claims that the speaker is capable of delivering much more powerful sound than what you would expect from a system of this size. The speaker has a claimed battery life of 6 hours and thankfully comes with a non-proprietary micro USB port for charging.

The SoundLink Micro’s exterior is made up of silicone rubber. Bose claims that the speaker can withstand dents, scratches & cracks. It can also double as a speakerphone and controller for Siri or Google Assistant, depending on your smartphone ecosystem of choice. There is a multipurpose button on board which is used to make calls or invokes the voice assistants.

As with most other SoundLink Bluetooth speakers, you can use the Bose Connect app to pair two of these speakers together for stereo sound.  You can also pair other SounLink speakers with the Micro. There is also a party mode which allows you to pair multiple Micros or other SoundLink speakers together.

The SoundLink Micro has been launched in three colour options, namely Midnight Blue, Black and Bright Orange. While US sales are set to start from September 21, there is official word as of yet regarding the India launch date.
